In 2018 Lewden were challenged to develop an entirely new range of weatherproof sockets for DEWA (Dubai Electricity and Water authority). These comprised either a 200A or 320A socket outlet, with integrated fused switches, and both electrical and mechanical interlocking features between the fused switches and socket outlets.
The IP65 sockets were to be manufactured with a high grade 316L stainless steel housing to cope with the harsh environmental location.
